On Saturday, our cub scout Pack 27 helped with the first mountain cleanup. They were hoping for 100 total people, but got 160! Lots of groups and families from around the Frazier Park area helped. Even our school superintendent drove in from Bakersfield to help.
We had a challenging area of Cuddy Valley, with a wide area of rolling mountainsides to clean. There were only four boys and two leaders, but we did a great job. That pizza was sure good, after our hours of cleaning.
There was beautiful lupine in bloom...
spiky thistle...
and other wildflowers, like these pretty yellow flowers.
What is amazing, is how much larger the area really is when you are on foot, as opposed to whizzing by in a car...
On Sunday, we joined forces with the new PMC pack to hold a joint Pinewood Derby. The boys had fun racing their cars, & the adults did a nice job with the food...
Here are the cool cars...even the adults raced some cars. My car is the 'girly' one next to the checkered one: purple/blue leopard print w/purple tiger stripes...
